The National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA) is a government agency that works with the purpose of saving energy in homes, businesses, and other buildings. It was created by Congress in 1978 to help reduce America’s dependency on non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels.
NEECA does this by offering financial incentives for homeowners who make their homes more energy-efficient, creating standards for appliances that use less power, and working with federal agencies to ensure that new buildings meet certain standards of efficiency.

A) Short profile outlining key accomplishments, information about your work experiences, and how your work and education prepared you for public service.
B) Policy and Program ideas – Your policy and program ideas should be approximately two pages; we want your thoughts on policies and programs that ensure the development of new renewable energy resources, increase the use of renewable energy by transitioning communities to more sustainable sources, increase energy efficiency measures in buildings, and promote the use of energy-efficient technologies (such as ENERGY STAR qualified equipment, etc.).
Please share your ideas on how NEECA can help the country to reduce dependence on fossil fuels by increasing efficiency through policies and programs that will foster this transition.
You may wish to consider issues such as incentives for manufacturers who produce products using more efficient technology, incentives for states that increase the number of buildings using renewable energy or providing incentives such as tax credits and/or grants to homeowners who undertake efficiency improvements.
